Transcript Digest is run by an independent operator in Sri Lanka (“we”, “us”). This policy covers the site at recap.zonova.lk. It is short because the site does very little with your data.
What we collect
No accounts, no profiles. There is nothing to sign up for, so we hold no name, email address or password for you.
- The video link you paste. It is sent to Google’s Gemini API so a summary can be produced, and it is not written to any database of ours. The summary is produced for that request and is not retained after it is returned to your browser.
- Text you ask to have read aloud may be sent to a text-to-speech service to produce the audio, and is not retained.
- Ordinary server logs. Our host, Cloudflare, records requests — IP address, time, page, browser — for security and abuse prevention. We do not use them to build a profile of you.
- Local storage in your own browser. If you supply your own API key, it is saved in your browser and sent only to Google. It never reaches us. Clearing your browser data removes it.
Third parties we rely on
- Google (Gemini API) — produces the summaries.
- Cloudflare — hosts and serves the site.
- Google Fonts — serves the typefaces the page uses.
- YouTube — the embedded player is loaded from YouTube and is governed by Google’s privacy policy; YouTube may set its own cookies when a video is embedded.
- Google AdSense — serves the advertising, as described below.
Advertising and cookies
This site is free because it carries advertising served by Google AdSense. Specifically:
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites.
- Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and other sites on the internet.
- You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings.
- You can opt out of a third-party vendor’s use of cookies for personalised advertising at aboutads.info/choices or youronlinechoices.com.
- Google’s own handling of this data is described in the Google Privacy & Terms.
We do not set any advertising or analytics cookies of our own, and we do not sell data to anyone.
If you are in the EEA, the UK or Switzerland
Where consent is required, advertising cookies are set only after you give it, and you may withdraw that consent at any time through the consent prompt or your browser settings. You have the right to ask what personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, and to complain to your local data-protection authority. Because we hold no account data, in most cases the honest answer to “what do you hold about me” is: nothing beyond the server logs described above.
If you are in one of those places, no advertising script is loaded at all until you accept the banner shown on your first visit. You can change that decision at any time from the Cookie choices link in the footer of the home page.
Children
This site is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top of the page changes with it. Questions go to contact@zonova.lk.
